Real Madrid trimmed Barcelona's lead at the summit back to 12 points after seeing off Deportivo La Coruna with a 1-0 win, but the entertainment that has become commonplace at the Nou Camp this season was sorely lacking at the Bernabeu.
Raul struck the only goal of a largely drab encounter just before the break as Madrid gained revenge for their 2-1 defeat in La Coruna on the opening day of the season.
