Manchester United 2 - Tottenham 1 (FA Cup, January 24, 2009) Against the odds, Spurs scored the opener at Old Trafford inside five minutes as Roman Pavlyuchenko glanced in Huddlestone’s cross past Foster. United’s best attacking moments were coming from Carlos Tevez, who rattled the bar from 20-yards out before forcing Ben Alnwick into a fine one-handed save to keep Spurs’ lead intact. The pressure eventually paid dividends, Paul Scholes opened his account for the season with a scruffy shot from the edge of the box before Dimitar Berbatov completed the turnaround with a textbook striker’s goal, controlling superbly and firing into the bottom corner.
